Beavers
Beavers sit within their own family, the Castoridae, within the Rodentia order of mammals. Globally, two living species of beaver are known to science: the North American beaver (Castor canadensis) and the slightly smaller Eurasian beaver (Castor fiber). As the name suggest, Britain and Europe is home only to the latter species, which, having suffered catastrophic historical declines, is now starting to recover thanks to several reintroduction projects.
