Sharks & Rays

The cartilaginous fishes, or Chondrichthyes, are a group of marine vertebrates that can be broadly divided into two groups: the sharks, skates, rays and sawfish (Elasmobranchii) and the chimaeras (Holocephali). Globally there are about 1,200 species of elasmobranch, 95% of which are marine species.
